There are many positions that are so unique in their functionality- it's almost polarizing. PTO/ Vacation/ sick time allowance and employee programs (fitness/ mental health/ additional family service's) is truly the best I have seen from a company in a long time.īut with all of these positives, there are some BIG negatives too. The different departments, locations (including remote opportunities for some positions) seem endless. I seriously wanted to believe that I had found my forever home with this company for my career path. but most of my colleagues are wonderful, dedicated to the Nielsen brand and hard working. My team is seriously underrated and always over looked by upper management. but when you do finally understand the "Nielsen logic" to it all, all the puzzle pieces come together and it becomes a career to be celebrated and proud of. Its a tough job- constantly changing and certainly nothing that a degree could prepare you for. I got lucky because the boss that I have is WONDERFUL and our team (for the most part) is very proud of the work that we do and do everything to help our clients succeed (and at the same time stay bipartisan while doing it for competitive markets). Not as great for family people but probably young single adults. Hardest part is probably not being home for dinner or having an actual weekend. ![]() So expect a lot of 1pm-9pm work and full weekends to get your 40 hours in. Hours are flexible but you need to be out when people are home. You don't ask for their money but asking for access to their privacy is somewhat off-putting for people. It's a lot of reading peoples reactions and trying to nudge them into agreeing to participate. ![]() The benefits for homes is great but the most common denial is people not wanting to have TV metering equipment installed and issues with the demographics data you collect from them. A lot of the time its chasing them around to speak to them and get them onboard with participating. Cons are you aren't canvassing areas but focusing on specific homes that have been selected. If you're a sales person this could be great for you. The vehicle use is an incredible asset since it includes you and a spouse for personal use. Nielsen has been pushing to catch up to sample quotas since Covid-19 closures kept a lot of field work postponed and a lot of sample homes cycled out.
